Welcome to Deft. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Deft website and the Deft build system software (the “Software”) provided under the pseudonym xntas (“Licensor”).
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the terms of the MIT License under which the Software is distributed. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. Software Licensing (MIT License)
The Deft build system is open-source software. The core source code is distributed strictly under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, or distribute the Software, provided that the original copyright notice and permission notice are included in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.
3. Commercial and Enterprise Use
You are permitted to use the Software in commercial, corporate, and enterprise environments free of charge under the MIT License framework. Future enterprise-grade infrastructure, support SLAs, or managed build-caching services provided by the Licensor may be subject to separate commercial agreements.
4. Disclaimer of Warranty (CRITICAL)
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS (INCLUDING THE LICENSOR UNDER THE PSEUDONYM xnts) BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Licensor (xntas) be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of source code, data corruption, compiler failure, project delays, or loss of profits) however caused, arising in any way out of the use of this Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with standard international open-source software practices.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the website or Software following any updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
